MOUNTING AN attack on Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Union Health Minister J P Nadda on Monday said the CM should not waste time and resign on moral grounds as there is a case of “blatant corruption” against him.
Watch what else is making news:
Nadda, who is on his fifth visit this month to his home state, which goes to polls a year later, ducked questions about his choice of returning to Himachal Pradesh and left the choice vis-a-vis his future role to the party high command.
At an event organised by Shimla Press Club, Nadda said Singh should stop blaming the BJP or the Centre for framing cases against him. “He (CM) has only been taking legal shelter. But, the fact remains that there is a blatant corruption case against him and he should have resigned long back. The CM should not waste any more time,” Nadda said.
Rejecting the CM’s charge that the BJP government was putting pressure on the investigating agencies, he said, “The investigating agencies are doing their job impartially and they should be allowed to go ahead.”
Virbhadra Singh was admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital here following complaints of viral infection and severe cough. Singh’s condition has improved after some medications and has remained stable, Senior Medical Superintendent of IGMC, Dr Ramesh Chand, said.
