Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal on Saturday said the government would appeal against the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s decision to cancel the appointment of Chief Parliamentary Secretaries (CPSes).

On Friday, the High Court had set aside the appointments of 18 CPSes saying that it violated the Constitution.

Interacting with the media on the sidelines of sangat darshan programme in Adampur Assembly segment on Saturday, Badal said the government was examining the court’s verdict.

“Since the honourable High Court gave the decision just yesterday, it’s too early to make any comment on it but we will definitely move to apex court after studying the case with due deliberations”, he added.

On Congress promising a one-time settlement for farmers in debt, Badal said, “Captain’s sudden love for farmers will be till polls only. The SAD-BJP alliance had been providing free power to farmers but on during his regime, Amarinder had discontinued this thereby putting enormous burden on farmers.”
