The bus with around 50 passengers on board was on its way to Fatehabad from Jakhal. The explosion took place at Bhuna-Fatehabad Road.
According to officials, a sulphur-like substance was kept in a small bottle in a bag under a seat in the bus. The bottle exploded owing to heat, they said.
