Hand grenade found in govt official’s residence in Manipur

The hand grenade was removed by the bomb experts of Manipur police and detonated in a safer place.

A hand grenade was found at the residential complex of Dipu Gangmei, the Administrative District Magistrate (ADM) of Ukhrul, at Langol Tarung in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Sunday, a police source said.

The hand grenade was seen by the family member of Gangmei, who then informed Lamphel Police station, the source said.

The hand grenade was removed by the bomb experts of Manipur police and detonated in a safer place.

The cause was being investigated.

    When such weapons are found, case under terrorism act is filed. So is Dipu Gangmei going to be charged under TADA or is he going to get away with it for being a District Magistrate?
