Heavy rains and flooding in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh claimed the lives of seven people on Friday morning, news agency ANI reported. Two others have also been reported missing as rains continue to pound the district since Wednesday night. Thousands remain stranded in Guntur as the district registered record rainfall. The National Disaster Response Force has been roped in to rescue those marooned to safety, reported NDTV. Around 7000 people have been reportedly evacuated from different parts of Guntur.
