Gujarat: Plea challenges ordinance to put off civic polls

A petition was filed in the Gujarat High Court on Thursday challenging the ordinance that was promulgated to delay the local body elections by three months. A division bench will likely hear the plea Friday.

The petition was moved by Virendrasinh Vaghela and Jagdish Bhatt, through their lawyer Shaktisinh Gohil, who is a senior Congress leader and spokesperson of the party.
