Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will host a Twitter Town Hall on September 23, becoming the first Indian chief minister to do so following similar social media interactions undertaken by his mentor PM Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama.
On Thursday, 60-year-old Rupani made the announcement through his Twitter handle.
He tweeted: Happy to announce that I am hosting a Twitter town hall on 23rd September. Tweet your questions to me using #AskVijayRupani

Sources say that the Gujarat CM will invite questions on Twitter till September 22.
In a typical Twitter Town Hall, prominent figures invite questions from the public and address them through Twitter along with the associated hashtag.
It is said that the new administration in Gujarat is trying to connect with the masses via social media. The BJP government under CM Vijay Rupani had earlier launched Twitter and Facebook accounts of the Gujarat CMO, and had instructed all ministers and secretaries to be active on social media and establish a strong presence in responding to people and their grievances.
