State BJP president Jitu Vaghani blamed the Congress of fomenting troubles at BJP events in Surat on September 8 and Bhavnagar on Sunday. Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday after a meeting with district BJP members in Karjan town of Vadodara district, Vaghani said, “The protest by the Patidar youth in our function at Surat and Bhavnagar is backed by the Congress and they are misleading the Patidar youth.”
Vaghani said that the Patidar community was one of the most exploited during the Congress rule in Gujarat. “How many chief ministers and leaders were from Patidar community in Congress rule? This is the agenda of the Congress to misguide Patidar youth,” he said, adding that he had video footage of Congress leaders meeting members of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) secretly. Reacting on the Bhavnagar incident where seven police men were booked in the alleged case of attacking on four Patidar youth at his felicitation function, Jitu Vaghani said, “Even I saw Congress corporator’s son, Congress district president, and members of the AAP trying to disturb the function. If they want to protest, they have right to do but this is not the right way.”
About the state visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday, Vaghani said that state BJP has decided to give him “a unique gift” by ensuring that “at least 5 lakh people downloaded the “Namo App”.
“This is the unique app by our Prime Minister to connect the common man to PM, where PM shares details of various schemes and other important information and we want to make sure at least 5 lakh download this app” said Vaghani.
