The Government will on Saturday launch a nationwide campaign to open bank accounts for workers on Saturday, both in organised and unorganised sectors. Special camps will be organised in every district at specific locations from today to facilitate people to open their bank accounts.

Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatraya said it has been decided to pursue this path of digital transactions more vigorously than ever before. He further asserted that communication has already been sent to all the states in this respect requesting their active co-operation.

Dattatraya sought the co-operation of all establishments, employers, employees associations and others to ensure that the needy workers access these camps and avail the services. The campaign will continue for a few days through the concerned banks, their business correspondents and camps as required.

Very good move which will make them to use Banks for the workers belonging to Organized and Un-organized sector and of course which can be accounted and also can't be exploited by the employers to collect voucher payments from them for higher amounts from them if they pay in Cash !!!!
