There was a great demand for a separate Goa Rajdhani and Railways decided to fulfill it, said a senior Railway Ministry official.

He said while the train will be flagged off on coming Sunday, the regular service will be started from Friday.

Keeping the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations in mind, Railways have launched the premier service ahead of festive season.

What about introduction of similar Bi weekly Rajdhani from Mangalore ?This has been a consistent demand from Mangaloreans for lat 8 years. What about Introduction of a weekly train from Bandra Terminus to Mangaluru, via Vasai Road Jn , for the benefit a large number of people from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada three coastal districts of Karnataka which are either em-plo or had business establishments on the Western Railway section.
