In a run-up to 2017 state polls, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar ruled out the possibility of his return to state politics in the near future. The Union Minister who is in the state to flag-off BJP’s political campaign on Saturday said that he will by all means support party’s Vijay Sankalp rally to support the party to victory.
“It’s the party’s decision, popularity survey can convey anything. But I will continue at the Defence Ministry and will not be contesting as Chief Minister candidate for the upcoming polls,” he said.
Chief Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar said that it was for the BJP’s parliamentary board to decide on the next CM candidate and not up to the them.
