Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Dussehra visit to Lucknow, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said that in the last few days India has proved that it is a strong nation. “We have proved our strength in last few days and has given a message to the world that India is a strong nation,” said Rajnath at the event in Lucknow.
He also said that unless provoked India won’t take an action on anyone. “Hum maante hai ke hum kisi ko chhedenge nahi, par agar humko koi chhedega to hum usko chhodenge nahi (I admit that we won’t bother anyone, but if provoked we will take necessary actions),” he added.
Rajnath Singh reached Lucknow on Monday evening for PM Modi’s visit to the historic Ram Leela in Aishbagh of the old city on Dussehra on Tuesday. It is reported that though he will receive PM Modi at Lucknow airport, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav would not be attending the programme. UP Governor Ram Naik will also join PM Modi on the dais.
In a break from past, PM Modi will attend the Vijayadashami in Lucknow. The move gains political significance as Uttar Pradesh is going to polls next year.
