Vowing to defeat all ‘extremist elements’ who have announced that they would contest the upcoming Assembly elections, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal Saturday exhorted the people to outrightly reject the call given by the United Akali Dal in its convention to fight elections on a common front.

While addressing a gathering during a sangat darshan programme in Jalabad, Sukhbir said that an atmosphere of peace and communal harmony prevails in Punjab due to the efforts of SAD-BJP government and the state is writing new success stories every day which gives the alliance a good chance of making a hattrick.

Castigating AAP, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Arvind Kejriwal is suffering from confrontationist nature who has nothing at all to do with the welfare and progress of Punjab. He alleged Kejriwal had a hidden agenda of coming to power in the state and use it to keep the pot of squabbles with the Centre burning in order to prop himself up on the national political scene.

Urging people not to repeat the mistake of voting for AAP as they did in the Lok Sabha elections, Sukhbir said AAP on assuming power would take Punjab from development to anarchy where neither the wheat and paddy would be lifted nor the farmers would get payment.
