A day after police gunned down two suspected Maoists in an encounter in Kerala, CPI, a constituent of the ruling LDF, warned the state government against “doing what Narendra Modi had done’’.
State CPI secretary Kanam Rajendran said that people of Kerala elected the LDF not to imitate what Modi had done. “Don’t go Maoist hunting in Kerala like some other states are doing. The government has to examine the right and wrong of those working among the tribals. It is not suitable for a civilised society to silence those who air opinions… Who has the right to kill those who raise opinions?’’ he said.
