Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Saturday took a jibe at the Centre over the demonetisation issue, saying the decision was taken for political gains. She took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said he was scared to address the Opposition in the Parliament. Mayawati said the demonetisation move had brought nothing but economic emergency causing suffering among the common people.

While opposing the move, Mayawati said her party did it for the the sake of the nation and not for any political benefit. She accused PM Modi of emotionally blackmailing people by shedding tears. “Leaving his home for the nation was a matter to be appreciated but that doesn’t mean that he would annoy the people of the country.”

Mayawati added there was no tension on the faces of BJP leaders, after the demonetisation move as they had enough time to adjust their black money beforehand. “If there were to be riots in the country because of the demonetisation move only Modi would be responsible for it.”

Dont worry what Modi is doing. You tell what you will do now in UP. Will you take money in cash or by card......and will you buy MLA with cash or cheque............thats the main question.......all the black money is gone. So dont cry. That money is PAAP. Leave it , no use crying.

Wait... this was done to curry favor with voters but voters are suffering? Kind of illogical! Modi if anything took a big gamble in annoying it's core trader vote base. I applaud him for it.

Says a person who has amed a fortune in politic. She may be amongs one of the richest people in thne country. She then shamefully try and speak for the poor. A hypcrite who values big monuments to her glory instead of deleivering more the essential things like water supply etc which is the need of the hour for most living in proverty in UP.

Yes very true political gain..since her party and many others are left with no option to buy votes..now the will of the people will come to the fore..already conceding defeat before the first vote is cast..

The main trouble with this disgusted elephant queen is that all her wealth collected from her slaves by selling tickets for coming election in UP has turned into toilet papers and her future looks blank like last LS election , in UP embly, so she is day dreaming riots.
