Delhi Police Crime Branch has formed a team, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Bhisham Singh, to look into the ‘objectionable CD’ allegedly involving AAP MLA from Sultanpur Majra Sandeep Kumar that surfaced Wednesday evening.

The decision was taken after BJP leaders met police chief Alok Kumar Verma Thursday and asked him to conduct an inquiry against the MLA.

Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Taj Hassan said they are looking into the matter.

DCP Singh said, “We are waiting for the BJP to provide us a copy of the CD after which we will start the investigation. We will then send the CD for forensic tests. After it is verified, we will see what offences can be applied in the case,” said the DCP.

A senior police officer said that after the inquiry, Kumar could be booked under Section 354C (voyeurism) of the Indian Penal Code.

Kumar was removed from the Cabinet after an emergency meeting of the AAP political affairs committee. Sources in the AAP also said this was a clear message to the party.

The party is yet to announce who will take over Kumar’s portfolio.
