As thousands of autos and taxis went off the city’s roads for the second consecutive day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on July 27 attacked Lt Governor Najeeb Jung accusing him of “supporting the BJP” to “cripple” Delhi.

Transport Minister Satyender Jain questioned Delhi Police’s “inaction” against “BJP-supported goons” who allegedly stopped autos and passenger vehicles from plying.

Protesters were yesterday seen at several places trying to forcibly enforce the strike.

Regular commuters and those visiting the city were having a harrowing time due to the strain on the public transport system.

The agitators have warned that the strike, called by a Joint Action Committee formed by 20 auto and taxis (kaali-peeli) unions, will continue till the government takes strict action against app-based services such as Ola and Uber.

“BJP goons stopping autos and taxis from plying. BJP wants to cripple del. Active support frm LG n Del police,” the Chief Minister tweeted, while Jain’s tweet said: “Goons stopped autos and other passenger vehicles with BJP support. Why no action by Delhi Police.”

In view of the strike, the Delhi government has deployed additional 300 buses from ISBTs and Railway stations. Metro trains were also overcrowded during the morning peak hours.

The app based Ola and Uber are far better than these Autos who never run their meter and charge more. I have seen several times these Auto drivers asking for om high amount, so i usually call these app based taxis where i know how much i will be charged by the meter rate. lt;br/gt;Compeion is a good thing and these app based taxis should not be banned. The taxi and auto unions should instead find more advance ways of competing with the app based taxis.lt;br/gt;The app based drivers also have a livelihood and they are also earning money, so why not these strikers go for the same or even better way to get more pengers.lt;br/gt;They should be more polite, use meter always, never say no to pengers for going to a place they don't like (which they do most of the time). Then things will improve and pengers will start liking these autos. Currently people use them only due to no or less alternatives.

In todays age where everyone wants to run fast, everyone wants to have a safe and good ride on road these App based services are the only option to opt. These auto on roads are pathetic in front of the Cabs provided by OLA. Please let these App services grow and enjoy the change in society.lt;br/gt;App based cab drivers life are also based on work and money they are earning from here, which they are getting after working hard.lt;br/gt;Please stop this strike and live the life with this change and also try to accept and join the revolution.
