A 30-year-old Dalit was shot at allegedly by a gram pradhan and three others who also thrashed the victim’s family members after accusing them of stealing a radish, police said on Monday.

The incident took place on Sunday when the four accused, including gram pradhan Anil, his son Nishant and nephew Sarouttem, reached Sunil Kumar’s house in a car and started beating his family members, Circle Officer Bhushan Verma said.

They accused the family of stealing a radish from the gram pradhan’s fields. When Kumar protested, the accused fired at him, the CO said.

He was taken to the hospital in a serious condition, he said, adding that police have registered a case against the four accused who are absconding.

Senior police officers have impounded the gram pradhan’s car. Security has been tightened and extra police has been
deployed in the area, the official added.

Where The biggest thieves are white collar businessmen who roam around in luxury cars. Poor man is shot at for stealing no more than a radish. May God provide ample fruit and vegetable growth on the free public land in India.

Stealing radish is a crime in India, but not looting 10000 crores from public banks and running away from India to London under CBI's protection.

What has Times Now gotta do in this? Are u foolish?? I agree with Subh that this is cheap journalism increasingly adopted by some Muslim and Communist newspapers. They tend to club and hype incidents related to Muslims and Dalits to bash the govt.

The editor thinks the le “Man shot at” wouldn't have been sensational enough, and had to use the word Dalit. Shameful journalism.

See, people starts fighting for a radish. They go to the extent of shooting for a radish. Leave Dalit and Upper Caste angle. But in the current situation of cashless India, the problems become many fold.
