Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar may have announced Dadri to be the 22nd district of the state, however, the process is likely to take a few months more as several formalities needs to be completed.
The government is all set to get a survey conducted in the villages at the border near Bhiwani and Dadri where residents will be asked whether they want to be part of Dadri or Bhiwani. The orders for conducting the survey is likely to be issued in the coming days.
A senior official of the Haryana government said that the process will start once the orders are received. “The preference of the villagers will be asked. Based on the survey, a decision will be taken on the inclusion of villages in the newly formed district,” said the official.
INLD MP Rajdeep Phogat who represents Dadri said that the government should ensure that the district becomes operational soon.
He said, “Jhajjar became a district 20 years back. However, it has not seen much development. Apart from the deputy commissioner and SP sitting there, nothing substantial has happened. We do not want that the same should happen in Dadri. Even though the announcement has been made, it could take some time for Dadri to function as a district. The government should expedite the process.”
Apart from knowing the preference of the people, the government will also need to construct buildings for district headquarters. It also needs to appoint a DC and a SP apart from officials at other levels.
