The Ghaziabad CBI court has rejected CBI’s closure report in Chaudhary Charan Singh University professor Kavita Chaudhary murder case.

The agency had stated that it had found no evidence against accused BJP MP from Fatehpur Sikri, Chaudhary Babulal, and former SP minister Kiran Pal.

The court has asked CBI to get the case probed again and submit a report within three months.

Kavita was kidnapped in 2006 by five associates, who were later arrested, and her body thrown into a river the next
day. It is yet to be recovered.

Names of then RLD leaders — Babulal and Merajuddin — then SP minister Kiran Pal and former CCSU V-C, R P Singh, had figured in the probe on the basis of Kavita’s call details.

The CBI had claimed that Kavita was blackmailing Merajuddin, who had paid her Rs 35 lakh. The agency had said Kavita was murdered by her five associates.
