Amit Azad, grandson of martyr Chandra Shekhar Azad, accused the state government of patronising drug trade.

“The government here claims that drugs are coming from states like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh,” he said at an Independence Day parade in Jalandhar, organised by Jan Jagriti Manch. “But what they don’t know is that in these states only opium is available and not drugs like heroin, smack and synthetic drugs.” He also said that Rajasthan and MP did not have any politician or ministers who were involved in drug trade.
