Ambala: Nine trains run late due to fog, flights delayed

A Northern Railway official said that Kurukshetra-Ambala Cant, Ambala Cant-Kurukshetra passengers’ trains and other few trains had been cancelled due to the fog.

AS MANY as nine trains were delayed due to fog in the Ambala division on Sunday, Northern Railway officials said. Dinesh Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Ambala Division, said that due to the fog at various places, delay of several trains was reported.

“The trains were delayed by maximum of one hour,” he said, adding that the Shatabdis between Delhi-Chandigarh-Delhi were not affected and they were running on time.

He said measures were being initiated in the wake of the early fog reported this year.

A Northern Railway official said that Kurukshetra-Ambala Cant, Ambala Cant-Kurukshetra passengers’ trains and other few trains had been cancelled due to the fog.

Due to bad weather conditions in Delhi, arrival of flights at Chandigarh airport was delayed. Officials said flights of various airlines, including Indigo, Jet Airways and Air India, were delayed by 20 minutes to one hour.

An airport official, however, said that the delay was of 10-15 minute.
