“It is a tragedy, it is an irony. When the prosecutor turns into the defence, what do you expect the court to do. In the case of B S Yeddyurappa, the prosecution became the defence…The alleged caged parrot of yesteryear has become the pet performing poodle of this government. We do not want to do any prophecy, but it may well turn out to be correct that the CBI may not even appeal against the decision,” Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said.
He said there was a “complete and absolute subversion of the instrumentalities of the Indian state” in Yeddyurappa’s case.
“If there is or was or continues to be any open and shut case of corruption and misconduct, it is the case pertaining to Yeddyurappa,” he added.
