A Special CBI court has ordered framing of charges against IRS officer Ashutosh Verma and businessman and arms dealer Suresh Nanda, for allegedly conspiring to manipulate the report of an Income Tax investigation.

Charges are also to be framed against Nanda’s chartered accountant Bipin Shah. However, the court discharged Sanjeev Nanda—also chargesheeted by CBI—stating that prima facie no case was made out against him.

Special CBI Judge Parveen Singh ordered that Verma and Suresh Nanda be put on trial after finding prima facie evidence to charge them under section 120-B of IPC and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
