The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday dismissed Awaz-e-Punjab front led by Navjot Singh Sidhu as “too insignificant and too inconsequential” to have an impact on the political scenario in the state.

“Three MLAs don’t make a political party,” he remarked, while adding the front leaders were themselves not sure or confident about what they were doing.

Interacting with reporters along the sidelines of the ‘Coffee with Captain’ programme organised at Sangrur, Amarinder clarified that neither he nor the Congress party had sent anyone to invite him to join the party.

“I had only said he was welcome to join the party,” he said.
