FIVE MONTHS pregnant after she was allegedly raped on multiple occasions between February and April this year, a teen from a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district was forced to undergo abortion by the family of the accused on Monday.

The abortion was carried out by a quack in the village, which comes under Kotwali Dehat police station of Bulandshahr.

According to police, a few locals took the semi-unconscious victim to the police station, with the foetus in a polythene bag. Based on her complaint, the police registered cases against the quacks and the accused.

The accused, one Mohammad Yunus, is from the same village — Bhaipura — and works in Gujarat. The police did not give further details, only saying he had come home on leave earlier this year, when he allegedly sexually assaulted the teen. No arrests had been made until late Monday evening.

The victim, who is 14, comes from an extremely poor family, and her father had died a couple of years ago, an officer said.

Circle Officer (City), Bulandshahr, Dharmendra Kumar Yadav said the victim recently told her mother about the series of sexual assaults after her mother found out she was pregnant. The woman went to Yunus’s house in the village and confronted his mother — the latter reportedly warned her to remain quiet for the sake of family “honour”.

Yunus’s mother gave the teen’s mother Rs 1,000 to have her aborted, Yadav said.

Coming from an extremely poor family, the victim’s mother did not approach the police at the time, it is learnt.

Yadav said the girl was taken first to a local quack, who gave her some medicines for the abortion but since it did not work Yunus’s mother took her to a second quack — a woman — who performed the abortion Monday.

Kotwali Dehat police lodged an FIR against the two quacks under IPC Section 313, and booked Yunus in a case of rape and under POCSO Act. The police also booked Yunus’s mother for threatening the family and forcing abortion on a girl against her will.

Bulandshahr’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Deepak Kumar said that the quack’s ‘clinic’ was sealed after the FIR was lodged. He said the victim is weak and is undergoing treatment.

Why Indian Express reporter did not disclosed the caste of victim why the rapist is from the muslim community, definitely victim is from Hindu and Dalit community, otherwise suppose if accused from upper caste then media and political party leaders started to bark on upper caste and 5000 years old culture etc.. Rahul hi, Kejrival and his gang etc visted victims home etc such dogs start their drama etc. See this Indian Express is the most biased newspaper.

People like these fall too far below the category of animals. If convicted, should be terminated.
