A BSF constable was among two people dead and three others injured seriously on Monday when their vehicle fell into a 100-ft deep gorge near Banihal on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.

Identifying the deceased as Constable Babi Rai of BSF 11 Bn and Tavera driver Abdul Khaliq Malyat of Watergam in Baramulla district, sources said they along with others were on way to Jammu from Valley. The injured included Head Constable Samar Kumar of Chhattisgarh, Constable Lal Babu Kumar of Patna (Bihar), and Constable Dev Raj Vishwas of Kolkata.
