THE BJP is planning to stage demonstrations across the state on Wednesday against Cabinet Minister Azam Khan for his alleged objectionable remark against B R Ambedkar.
Without naming Ambedkar, Azam Monday had said in Ghaziabad: “The statue (of Ambedkar) pointing its finger into the distance seems to say that not only does it own the plot of land on which it stands, but also the one towards which it points its finger.”
The party will stage dharnas in all districts while raising slogans like ‘Baba sahab ke samman mein, BJP maidan mein’. A delegation will also submit a memorandum to Governor Ram Naik.
State BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya, while demanding that Akhilesh Yadav should remove Azam from his cabinet, also sought a public apology. The silence of BSP proves that it is hand-in-gloves with the ruling SP, he said in a statement.
