The dawn-to-dusk Kerala shutdown called by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s state unit on Thursday to protest the murder of one of its activists in Kannur was total, reports here said. While shops and establishments remained closed, attendances in various government and private establishments were thin as public and private transport and buses remained off the road.

Commuters arriving at railway stations in the state were stranded as public transport was unavailable. The BJP worker’s murder in Kannur on Wednesday had taken place in Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s village and was the second in two days, also the seventh in Kannur district since he assumed office in May.

Despite the shutdown, Vijayan’s cabinet held its routine weekly meeting at the state secretariat where security was stepped up.

Both at the Indian Space Research Organisation centre and Technopark campus, the police were deployed in numbers to ensure the safety of the employees and of the campus.

As many private firms allowed their workers to work from home, “the overall attendance was not like on usual working days,” an IT official said.

Although two-wheelers and private vehicles were seen plying around in urban areas, the picture was different in the rural localities. At Thrissur and in the state capital here, the protesters vented their anger against the media by destroying the advertisement boards of the Communist Party of India-Marxist.

In some places, the protesters even roughed up persons who tried to venture out — the car of a medical professional in Kollam’s Karunagapally was damaged. The BJP workers also held protest marches in all district headquarters and raised slogans against Pinarayi Vijayan.

Cold blooded murder of BJP activist is highly condemn-able act of communist party that is in power in Kerla and the complete shut down in the state support my views. CM should step down owing responsibility for this ghastly crime against their own people because he is CM of state and not of his party. What they did in W.B for 35 years under its rule and now the time came for their exit from this state of Kerla also that is evident from support of people of the state for PM Modi and BJP Jai Hind

It is a wrong umption that BJP managed it. Even K.S.P. (Kerala Socialist Party which has perhaps a support base of hundred men) can a call for a Bandh in Kerala and make it a total success of it, because the women in Kerala celebrate all Bandhs, irrespective of the political party that makes the call. They get their men arrested at their home during day time only when there is a Bandh call. BJP and CPIM makes it a weekly affair. They do not fail to kill one every week. Nowadays, the killings are on people who decided to cross over from this party to the other. Both the parties are really working hard to improve the conditions of Keralites. Because the followers are in large numbers, perhaps, they want to reduce the head count to a manageable level. Let us see where they take the State to.

Not long Kerala will also fall in line with other nationalist forces by discarding CPM/Cong. goonda rule in the state.Even CM there is not above board as his silence indicates his league with culprit. How can people tolerate cold blooded murder which happens in CM village which must be with his party covert support. Now response of bandh there indicates the wind of change.

Even school children can announce a bandh and ensure success in Kerala. People like to curl up in homes the moment they hear the word "bandh" in Kerala. A study suggested people's yearning for holiday is the prime reason for frequent bandhs there. Men over there are good at waxing eloquently on any topic in the world, but keeps mum the moment they encounter a bandh gang.

It is neither success nor failure. Any person holding a flag of any political party can declare a Bandh in Kerala and the spineless people will obey it, for fear of life and property. I don;t know how many bandhs were observed this year, despite High Court order to stop the practice. Parties hold the helpless citizens at ransom to prove that they are at the mercy of political parties and do not have any choice in their affairs. This is called Democracy in India. (Other states are not so bad). It is nothing more than a show of destructive will power of parties.

Violent means and Hartals are an integral part of the Indian Political system used by all parties. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar had warned hi against over use of Hartals and dharnas in pre-independence times as the habit would be carried on and would be ruinous in independent India.lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;There is no need for a cadre based political set-up in India. This cadre set-up is leading to a permanent cycle of violence.

Communist thugs murdering their opponents in Kerala is becoming so routine. Just like how it was in West Bengal. And in both, national media, will studiously avoid covering it. Brave of BJP activists to expose Commie rule in Kerala - at the cost of their lives.

Double standard policy of saffronised party claiming themselves as the sole champion of Hindu/Hindu causes, by killing persons who are Hindus and then try to hijack the state's law and order situation, if any body retaliates that too who are Hindus. These are their nationalism/patriotism.
