BJP National president Amit Shah is set to address nearly 50,000 Dalits in Lucknow later this month. He, along with other party leaders, are also likely to have lunch with Dalits after the event.

While the date for the event is yet to be finalised, so far, it is scheduled for September 16. The event, named ‘Manavta Sadbhavna Samaroh’, would be held at the sprawling grounds of Smriti Upwan, which was developed by previous Mayawati government.

Former BSP zonal coordinator Jugul Kishore, who has joined BJP in January, has been given responsibility to organise the event. “The event is aimed at sending out a message that BJP believes in the policy of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ and regards all sections of the society, including Dalits, poor and deprived. The theme of the event is ‘Manav-manav ek samaan, har manav ka ho samman’,” he said.
