A woman was caught on CCTV mercilessly beating her 70-year-old mother-in-law and trying to strangle her with a cloth at her home in Bijnor. The CCTV was installed by her estranged husband. The woman, Sangeeta Jain, has been arrested on charges of attempt to murder after her husband showed the shocking video to the police.

The video captured on January 5 shows Sangeeta using a cloth to strangle her mother-in-law Raj Rani Jain and then brutally assaulting her. Sangeeta had some differences with her husband Sandeep Jain and mother-in-law, and their divorce case was pending in a local court. Sangeeta had also lodged a complaint against Sandeep under the Dowry Act, according to SHO Nehtaur, Chandra Kant Yadav. Sandeep was sent to police custody for a day on January 4 on charges of dowry harassment.

Sandeep suspected that Sangeeta used to torture his parents in his absence and had installed a CCTV camera in his mother’s room to keep an eye on his wife. On January 5, he came to know from the CCTV footage that Sangeeta was “mercilessly thrashing” the old day and informed the police at Nehtaur, who allegedly turned him away. Sandeep yesterday reported the matter to the SP (rural) following which Sangeeta was arrested and will be produced in court today.

Debjit Chowdhry, ADG (Law and Order) said, “We will take legal action against her. Already an FIR has been registered and our police officers have visited the site. We are looking at the CCTV footage and further legal action will be taken”. “There is a lot of infighting amongst the family – husband-wife, mother-in-law and wife – it is a family matter and now police is in the picture,” he said.

humanrightsu(dot)wordpress(dot)com In India Majority of Women and Girl child suffer at the hands of W0men. But Majority of things never come out and even if they come out it does not matter, it matters only when women suffer at the hands of men.

humanrightsu(dot)wordpress(dot)com Respect W0men and please do not talk or record private activities of w0men. It is wrong to put a CCTV and record, Women should have the freedom to choose things as much as men have. Remember Women never make mistakes, they are always falsely projected by the society Women and Specially Indian Women represent Shakti the Power. Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. Indian men need to understand their w0men better, the most important thing is W0men are Human beings, they can do all men can do, they can fanstastically commit all kinds of crimes men do and get away by playing women Card

All women have to learn to behave. This is their duty. Be undecent, criminal or anti-national can't be accepted. The beauty of women are their discipline; the principle of a civilized society. Men have about the same duty.

Sad state of affairs.Domestic violence act should not be used as a weapon to har in-laws as is the case right now. Shocking but true that women have started abusing laws meant to protect them
