In a jibe at Shivraj Singh Chouhan dispensation in Madhya Pradesh over the recent killing of eight SIMI activists in police action in Bhopal, Senior Samajwadi Party leader and UP Cabinet minister Azam Khan Wednesday said there was “nothing wrong” in the encounter as the state government has provided justice, “which was long pending in courts”.

“BJP jis pe bhi shuba Kare, chahe wo jail me ho ya jail ke bahar, usey aise hi maar dena chaiye. Agar BJP kisi ko sandigdh samajhti hai to kanoon or insaaf ka intezar nahi karna chaiye, usey aise hi maar dena chaiye (If BJP suspects anyone of wrongdoing, whether he is in jail or outside, should be killed in this manner only. If BJP finds someone suspect, then he should be killed like this only without waiting for law to take its course of action.),” Azam said.

He was talking top reporters at his native place in Rampur.

Azam further said that killing the eight alleged SIMI suspects in a police shootout was a right decision of the BJP-led state government as it finally provided them with long pending justice.

“Der ho rahi thi insaaf milne me. Sarkar ne insaaf de diya, isme bura maanane wali koi baat nahi hai. Har sandigdh ke saath aisa hi hona chahiye aur BJP ko aisa hi karna chaiye. Is se desh tarrakki karega, mahaul sudhrega, nyay me deri nahi hogi…Warna kahan adalatein, zamanatein…in sabka kissa hi khatam kar diya. (There was a delay in deciding the cases against the suspects. The state government handed them a verdict. This is how the country will progress and the law and order situation will improve. With one action they ended the story and there’s no need of going to court or seek bail),” he added sarcastically. The minister, however, added that it was obvious that BJP would seek to reap benefits in the name of the encounter in the coming Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.
