Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately withdraw the decision to demonetise high value currency and jail those with illegal Swiss bank accounts. He also said that if the massive cash crunch across the country continued, it could lead to law and order issues and spiral out of control. “I urge the Prime Minister to take back his decision” of November 8 to demonetize the 500 and 1,000 rupee notes as it has created huge problems for the ordinary people,” Kejriwal said in a press conference.

He also took on Modi for appealing people to bear the hardship for just 50 more days so that government can streamline the troubles triggered by the dramatic demonetisation. “Does this mean that the markets will remain closed for the next 50 days? How can farmers survive? Will people keep standing in queues for 50 days? He is only giving an emotional speech.”

Asking the Prime Minister to stop “natakbazi” (drama), the AAP leader told Modi to first jail “his friends” who hold illegal accounts in Swiss banks. “People expect you to take action against them,” he said. “Once you jail the corrupt, corruption will automatically end. But first roll back this decision. Give up your pride. You can re-introduce the scheme later.”

Kejriwal said even Modi admitted in his Goa speech that only a few lakh people were dishonest. Then why was the entire country being punished, he asked. He warned that the country’s economy was sliding because of the crisis, as evident from the serpentine queues outside all banks and ATMs across the country and the way business had been impacted everywhere. “If law and order problems crop up, it will become difficult to control the situation, Modiji.”

Calling the demonetisation a “very poorly implemented scheme”, Kejriwal said: “Ever since this order has come, there is panic in every household.”

No "common man" or ried citizens are complaining... The avg ried guy only feels justice has finally been meted out and the poor are only happy depositing others black money into their own accounts and getting a 20-25% commission! So get real Mr AK, become an aam aadmi once again instead of a silly politician!!

I request PM to punish all Swiss bank account holders. Rather then punishing innocent poeple of our country.

@Kejri, their are factual reports that you and your frinds have started NGOs to accept foreign back money and create anarchy in India, why don't you spend time to clarify and provide us the data on that rather than doing reckless talk on something good happening

Out of all the parties leaders ,the fire is more intense in Aap, perhaps their preparations to fight coming elections in various steps on the heaps of black money is in doldrums.Since PM is adamant to bring out black money AAP demise before spreading its wings on false promises on the basis of this black money backfired,so this hue and cry is understandable.People know how to tackle a rabid dog if run loose.

Kejriwal's stash of unaccounted money that he diverted from dilli to Punjab is rendered useless by Modi's drive. Hence the bluster by Kejriwal

After listening his interview he has very strong valid points . How much the r true time will tell ... Kejriwal is hunger of power not money people should understand this thing ... He wants to do lot of thing for India but he lacks power he is just a CM of UT which too run by center ... That's why winning other states is must for AK to fight with these corrupt parties in India ... People should keep this thing in their mind that parties fight election just to get control on w country earn black money as much as they can ... Even aane wali saat pushte aram s khaye itna intejam kr lete h ... Saari esho aram mile that's it inka koi vision nhi hota k m poverty khatam kr k rahunga , smart cities bna k rahunga , world cl education de k rahunga n so on ... AAP immature ho skti h but they have very clear vision which they have already shown in 49days ... Next tym bjp already ready so he chopped off w power of CM ...
