Clearing the air on AAP’s chief ministerial candidate, party official spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira Tuesday categorically stated that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would never become the Chief Minister of Punjab. While responding to Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh’s claim that he would not allow a non Punjabi to become the Chief Minister of Punjab, Khaira said that AAP’s Chief Miniterial face would be a Punjabi.
Claiming that Amarinder had conceded defeat to AAP he said, “Since Captain has already accepted his humiliating defeat in the forthcoming assembly poll, let us ensure him once again, that Kejriwal is not at all interested to leave Delhi to become the Chief Minister of Punjab and AAP would project only a Punjabi as the next CM of the state.”
Khaira said that many a times AAP leadership as well as Kejriwal himself cleared the air that he would not leave Delhi and will not shift in Punjab to become the Chief Minister of the border state.
“Yes, Kejriwal would stay in Punjab to ensure AAP emerges victorious so as to take party’s mission in pan-India,” Khaira added. “Now Captain should clear whether he will welcome AAP’s Punjabi Chief Minister”, Khaira quipped claiming that Amarinder could not come out of his defeat in 2007 and 2012 and now after smelling another defeat in the hands of AAP, he has lost his mental balance.
