The United Akali Dal (UAD) has invited leaders of the “fourth front” Awaz-e-Punjab and AAP’s former Punjab convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur to its convention against “drugs, corruption and the RSS” in the state.
The convention is scheduled for September 9 at Daburji in Amritsar.
“We approached Bains brothers and Chhotepur to invite them for the convention. While Chhotepur said that he may not be able to make it to the convention because of prior commitments, his supporters, including Gurinder Singh Bajwa and others, are likely to attend,” said UAD secretary general Gurdeep Singh Bathinda on Tuesday.
Gurdeep said Yogendra Yadav, founder member of Swaraj Abhiyan, had also been invited and would participate in the convention.
Janata Dal (United) national spokesperson and secretary general K C Tyagi would be among JD (U) leaders who would attend the convention, party president said.
The UAD is looking forward to stitch an alliance with Janata Dal (United) for the upcoming assembly polls in Punjab.
