The Haryana government has issued orders to chargesheet 12 officers, eight IAS and four from Haryana Civil Service (HCS), for their role in the recruitment of Anganwadi workers/helpers, which dates back to 2010, under the Congress regime.
The eight IAS officers are: R S Kharab (then ADC, Karnal), Sanjeev Verma (then ADC, Panchkula), Sanjay Joon (then ADC, Palwal), Anita Yadav (then ADC, Faridabad), Dr Saket Kumar (then ADC, Mewat), Mona A Shriniwas (then ADC, Rewari), Dr J Ganesan (then ADC, Jind) and Renu S Phulia (then ADC, Ambala). They will be chargesheeted under Rule 10 of All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969. Anita Yadav is the same officer against whom the Parkash Singh commission recorded scathing remarks in its report on the Jat agitation.
The HCS officers that the state government has decided to chargesheet are: Sumedha Kataria (then ADC, Kurukshetra), Ashok Garg (then ADC, Hisar), Ramesh Chander Bidhan (then ADC, Kaithal) and Geeta Bharti (then ADC, Yamunanagar). They will be chargesheeted under Rule 8 of Haryana Civil Service (P&A) Rules, 1987.
Documents accessed by The Indian Express revealed that at least “906 discrepancies” had been found in the selection procedure in 17 districts of the state.
“In compliance with the orders of Hon’ble High Court dated 12.01.2015 all DCs were directed to constitute committees to peruse the entire selection pertaining to the Anganwadi workers/ helpers of the year 2010… As per the reports of the committees, 401 discrepancies in respect of Anganwadi workers and 505 discrepancies in respect of Anganwadi helpers have been found, the Chief Secretary wrote in his note, dated September 7.
