A civilian was killed and three policemen are in critical condition after militants lobbed a grenade on Monday at Sherbagh Police station in Anantnag, Jammu-Kashmir. This comes fresh after the J&K government decided to impose curfew in all the 10 districts of Kashmir on Eid. Mobile and internet services, barring BSNL, have been suspended for 72 hours.

Security has been heightened ahead of the planned separatists march to the offices of United Nations on Tuesday, in protest against the alleged human rights abuse in Kashmir. Helicopters and drones will be deployed to monitor the situation in the Valley tomorrow. The Army was also asked to be on standby and will be deployed at specific vantage points. The state government hopes to avert any trouble from spilling out on to the streets.
