Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and BJP president Amit Shah on Wednesday visited Apollo Hospital in Chennai to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, who has been undergoing treatment since September 22 after she complained of fever and dehydration. The two leaders wished the chief minister a speedy recovery.

The chief minister is being constantly monitored by an expert panel and being given necessary respiratory support along with other treatment, a bulletin regarding the AIADMK chief’s health said Monday.
A stream of high-profile visitors, including Governors of Tamil Nadu and Kerala Ch Vidyasagar Rao and P Sathasivam, Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Chief Ministers of Kerala and Puducherry Pinarayi Vijayan and V Narayanasamy have visited the hospital in the past few days.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao has allocated portfolios held by Jayalalithaa to Finance Minister O Panneerselvam till she recovers. Jayalalithaa will continue as the chief minister of the state. He will also be presiding over cabinet meetings.
