Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh Saturday hit back at Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal for his allegations of a Congress-Akali nexus in punjab.

“I have been making rounds of the courts for the past 10 years. Does that indicate a nexus? I will not spare Badal once we are back in power. I did the same to him earlier also,” said Amarinder, responding to a question while addressing the media in Chandigarh Saturday. He dared Kejriwal as well as Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for an open debate on Punjab.

He said Kejriwal should have the guts and face him directly instead of putting others on the front. “He wants to become the chief minister of Punjab. He should face me directly,” Amarinder said.

The Punjab Congress chief reiterated that he had already made his stand clear on Navjot Singh Sidhu clear. “I have already welcomed him,” he said. Earlier, Amarinder had inducted over 300 AAP supporters in the party. Hailing from different districts across the state, the AAP supporters were led by seven leaders of Srishti Karta Valmiki Educational Trust.

Meanwhile, Youth Akali Dal (YAD) spokesman Gurpreet Singh Happy, representing Zone-3 in Malwa, also entered the Congress causing a setback to the ruling SAD party.
