The new high-tech centralized emergency system will ensure that police reach a caller in a maximum of twenty minutes in rural areas and within 15 minutes in urban areas.

The UP 100 has been established to provide emergency services relating to public safety across the state round the clock.

A centralized contact centre has been established at Lucknow for receiving emergency calls directly from across the state. After inaugurating the system, Yadav underlined that people need not to go to police, instead police will reach them on time.

The UP-100 will be available initially in 11 districts of the state from tonight and later, it will cover all the remaining districts.
The state government has allocated Rs. 2,200 crore for the project.
