Delhi Police have deployed 30 companies of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Rapid Action Force (RAF) outside banks and ATMs in all the eleven districts. This is in addition to the already existing Delhi Police personnel deployed.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Delhi spokesperson) Dependra Pathak told The Indian Express that the district police have been maintaining a tight vigil across all banks and ATMs. “We have deployed adequate police personnel, along with extra force especially at banks, ATMs and petrol pumps to avoid any untoward incident,” he said.

A senior police officer said two of the 30 companies of the CRPF and RAF are posted in every district and others are deployed on the VIP route. “We have deployed 3,500 paramilitary force personnel, along with Delhi Police, in view of the huge rush at banks,” the officer said.
Sources said the Home Ministry has also issued an advisory asking all states to provide security to banks, post offices and agencies managing ATMs and cash.
In several areas of Old Delhi such as Chandni Chowk and Lahori Gate, security was beefed up at banks and ATMs.
On Thursday, Delhi Police Commissioner Alok Kumar Verma met senior officials, including all deputy commissioners of police, and discussed the security arrangements at banks and post offices.
All DCPs also met security officials in charge of banks with regard to the procedures involved in transporting cash from the bank chest to various branches and ATMs,” a senior police officer said.
