Senior AAP leader and Delhi Labour Minister Gopal Rai here on Sunday said his party had a mission to change the living conditions of 80 per cent in Gujarat, one of the worst states in India for poor labourers, including fixed pay workers. AAP will replicate its Delhi model in Gujarat, he said.
He said that in the past 15 years, only 20 per cent of the population had made progress.
“Earlier, during Narendra Modi’s regime 15 years ago his government might be building Gujarat but now, (BJP national president) Amit Shah was busy occupying power,” he said.
He said that he had met different groups of people, leaders of trade associations, transporters etc, and found that all of them fed up with BJP rule and desired for change in the state. AAP wants to change their lives on the lines of Delhi model in Gujarat,” Rai said.
“In AAP, we take immediate action against the guilty leader provided it must be brought to our notice,” he said while replying to a question on BJP burning effigy of Arvind Kejriwal and Asutosh over remark in which the latter equated Gandhiji with its minister who is accused of rape.
He said AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to make a trip to Surat on October 16.
He said he had observed one thing about Gujarat here and in Delhi that all were saying in one voice that this time in Assembly election, there would be a change in Gujarat. “The Congress cannot do that, but everyone is having high hopes that AAP alone can deliver,” he said.
