A complaint has been filed against Aam Aadmi Party MLA Sarita Singh in an alleged bribery case. The Delhi Police are investigating the matter. The MLA was previously booked for misbehaving with a Delhi Police official last November. Singh allegedly hurled abuses at an assistant sub-inspector, when he got into an altercation with the MLA’S driver. The ASI purportedly had to jump off his bike to save himself when Singh’s driver bumped into the bike while reversing her car.

So far, at least 12 AAP MLAs were arrested since the party swept to power in 2015. Most of them are still facing various charges against them. AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister in the past had accused the Narendra Modi government of targeting his party MLAs by allegedly foisting false cases against them.

Most recently, AAP MLAs Sharad Chauhan, Naresh Yadav and Amanatullah Khan were arrested on different charges. Sharad Chauhan was arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of a party volunteer, who had alleged harassment and molestation by Chauhan’s aides. Naresh Yadav was held for allegedly desecrating the Quran in Punjab. Amanatullah was booked for intimidating a woman with rape and murder.
