In a fresh trouble for Amanatullah Khan, Delhi Police on Wednesday registered an FIR against the controversial Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and his supporters for allegedly threatening a group of protesters who were staging a demonstration over civic problems in his constituency, news agency ANI reported.
In the FIR registered at Jamia Nagar police station, the complainant accused the AAP MLA and his supporters of attacking him on the intervening night of October 16-17th. The Jamia Nagar police have registered a non-cognizable report (NCR) against the legislator.
Amanatullah, who represents Okhla constituency in south Delhi, was arrested last month in connection with a sexual harassment case filed by his relative. He was subsequently granted bail after being sent to one-day judicial custody. The complainant had accused Khan of pressurising her to establish physical relations. Khan, however, has denied the allegation, saying he had “no connection with the woman at all”.
On October 14, Amanatullah Khan was questioned by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) for about three hours in connection with a recruitment scam in Delhi Waqf Board.
