AAP’s Punjab Convener Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi Waraich on Saturday visited the border village of Dhanoa Kalan and its adjoining areas in Attari and interacted with the villagers who have been asked to relocate after the Army carried out surgical strikes on terrorist launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Singh said the villagers have shown exemplary courage during such situation and cooperated with the Army in fighting the enemy without caring for the loss of livelihood which they suffer due to relocation.
This fact has been proved time and again, he said.
He said that the people have done their part by obeying the government orders and now it is the duty of the administration to provide safety and security to the people.
He alleged that the government has totally failed to address the basic needs of these people and they feel helpless in such circumstances when they are forced to leave their livestock and crops unattended.
He said his Aam Aadmi Party is with the people of this border belt and would look after their interests in this hour of crisis.
Singh appealed to the government and the administration to provide basic facilities like food, shelter, water and medicines to the people, besides protecting their households, livestock and crops.
