The AAP went on the attack Thursday, saying that if working for people landed its MLAs in jail, they would continue to do so. AAP MLAs Somnath Bharti and Amanatullah Khan, arrested by police within a span of 24 hours in different cases, were later granted bail by courts.

“(Prime Minister Narendra) Modi ji feels that Delhi gave a thumping majority to AAP by electing 67 hardened criminals but despite being a brave Prime Minister he is unable to keep them behind bars…” said Dilip Pandey, AAP Delhi unit convenor.

On the AIIMS boundary wall dispute, he said, “The PWD had made a road on a nullah behind AIIMS so that residents of Gautam Nagar have easy access to their locality… but the AIIMS authorities have occupied the space as their parking… When the PWD under Delhi government in the presence of local MLA Somnath Bharti and residents of Gautam Nagar started work on that road again… police framed false charges against Bharti and got him arrested.”
