IAF fighter plane crashes in Barmer, pilots safe

Both the pilots of the Sukhoi-30MKI ejected safely, according to eyewitnesses.

A fighter plane of Indian Air Force crashed in Barmer on Wednesday leaving three villagers injured. Both the pilots of the Sukhoi-30MKI ejected safely, according to eyewitnesses. The incident happened near Shivkar village in Sadar police station area in Barmer, Additional SP Rameshwar Lal said.

“Villagers told us that the pilot ejected shortly before the crash. Air Force officials have been informed about the incident,” he said, adding, that the crash had caused damage to a hamlet.

All those who were injured have been admitted to the district hospital, Circle Officer Barmer O P Ujjwal said.
