Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday condemned the brutal killing of a Muslim youth onboard a Mathura-bound train and said that efforts were on to nab the other accused in the case. Khattar, who had invited criticism from various quarters for not condemning the shocking incident or expressing condolence, said, “I condemn the incident and appeal to people to maintain peace”.

“Efforts are on to nab the other accused in the case,” he told reporters here on the sidelines of a meeting.

The victim’s family was on Sunday given a cheque of Rs 5 lakh by the District Red Cross while Wakf Board chairman announced another Rs 5 lakh and a job to one of Jallaludin’s sons.

Junaid was stabbed to death while his brothers, Hashim and Sakir–were injured by a mob which also allegedly hurled slurs against them onboard the Delhi-Mathura passenger train between Ballabgarh and Mathura stations on Thursday night.

The main culprit is Modi goverment and Haryana government run by rss cadres. It is their hate mongering which is resulting in such lynchings. It is to be noted that according to the 1st HM of India, Sardar Patel, it was the hatred against Gandhiji spread by rss which resulted in his killing. Surely, RSS is responsible for these lynchings. Will Khattar stop this rot?

Under press-ure of critic-ism, CM Khattar has at last issued a brief, formal statement condemn-ing the mob lynch-ing of the 15-yr-old boy. The CM's delayed response is in line with the policy of his supremo, Modi ji : Modi ji, we may recall, maintained resound-ing silence in the wake Akhlaq's lynch-ing in Dadri. Modi ji also incited his voters' crowds with his talk of "pink revolu-tion" dur-ing his Lok Sabha elect-ion campaign in 2014. Thus a favour-able political climate has been created for mobsters who blindly follow their leaders. Among the Muslim community also there are "leaders" like Owaisi who have gained popula-rity by mak-ing incend-iary speeches. As Shri Gopalkrishna Gandhi has aptly said, "Their religion is not Hinduism or Islam, it is Separate-ness. . . We must resist a second parti-tion-ing of India. ."(THE HINDU/June 16).
