More than 50 students from the city participated in a two-day scrabble championship organised by Global Environmental Concern (GEC) on May 19 and 20.
GEC runs an evening school for 60 children of disadvantaged backgrounds at the British School.
Rahul Gupta from GEC said,We aimed at providing an opportunity to students of the evening school to interact with youngsters of the city and vice-versa. Facilitating the interaction over a game of scrabble was fun and gave the students something to learn while they played the game.
Each student from the school was paired with a participant, who had come for the event. Sahil Kapoor and Sanaa won the competition.
GEC is an international organisation that works in the fields of education of children and the conservation of the environment.
