Delhi Police have registered an FIR against Arindam Chaudhuri, founder of Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM), on the basis of a complaint by the University Grants Commission of “misleading, cheating and fooling” its students as its courses were not recognised by any recognised authority.

“We have registered an FIR under Section 420 of IPC against IIPM Dean Arindam Choudhari and his father Malayendra Kisor Chaudhuri, who is a Director, based on the UGC complaint. We are probing the matter,” Joint CP (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.

A notice has been sent to both of them to join the investigation, police said.

IIPM, however, has questioned the UGC complaint and said the institute was not cheating its students.

The UGC, in its complaint, has said that despite the fact its courses are not authorised, the institute was “fooling” the students by charging a hefty fee from them.

Chaudhari said in a statement it was sad that some sections of the media have decided to pick up a case that was 6 months old and wondered how this could amount to cheating.

“UGC and AICTE keep themselves in news by targeting IIPM with their lies because we have stayed consciously out of their purview and accused them of massive corruption”, he said.

“We have never claimed that the institute is recognised by any statutory body nor have we claimed we give degrees. We give certificates and write clearly everywhere that “students interested in de jure recognition of IIPM’s programmes need not apply to IIPM! Its written clearly since 1970s in our prospectus and in our websites since it came into effect,” the IIPM dean also said.

“We have been cooperating with the police ever since the first notice came and will continue to do so as law abiding citizens,” he added.

Arindam is the biggest conman and has duped and destro the life of millions of students. Also, it is students fault as well. They do not do right research on the insutions they join. Most of the students who join IIPM and Amity are no good themselves and pay money to get diplomas, degrees etc etc. These students do not get any admission and then join Amity and IIPM to get somewhere. Arindam should be given life sentence along with the owner of Amity who is also conning students as its degrees are also not recognised by any known body. Moreover, if u do any degree from Amity, you will not get admission in US or any country as they do not recognise the degress of Amity . Shame on these two insutions and bigger shame on the students who join without doing any due diligence.

Best part is that TOI online has removed this news as IIPM gives big ads in their paper. Arindam who himself studied at IIPM failed to p the exam in the begining and now write books and poses as a management guru..amazing...how can a country innovate and progress when such people are not arrested and put behind bars.

That Arindam is a conman who charges exorbitant fees for worthless courses, and awards fake degrees, is known to everyone. What is surprising is that he has gotten away with it for so many decades. It is only because of the political clout he enjoys he is still carrying on the con, even getting sites showing his insute in a bad light, blocked. People have to understand that SRK endorses iipm for the big bucks. For crores of rupees SRK will perform even in a strip club. What I fail to understand is what has stopped the regulatory authorities from closing down this sham organization and refunding the fees to the cheated students?

Iipm is a chit fund committee where lacs of students like what we see in our surroundings where lots of people do business as making committees same as here also where our kind of students pay money like a committee into iipm society n after some students get foreign tour n others manage with domestic, also once the w committee amount received the real fraud comes where we actually get the real information dt the course is not valid n is not recognized plus these people take away our w committee n hide themselves without giving us back..... my opinion we should give him life time imprisonment so dt in future no one repeats like these bloody people fool d w system
